The Eve 30P is a flat-top, unprotected 18650 battery from EVE Energy. It is rated at 3000 mAh with a 30 A continuous discharge. It measures 18.35 × 65.15 mm - the standard 18650 size that fits vaporizers with removable cells.
The 3000 mAh capacity is what stands out, so this cell suits longer stretches between charges. It is sold as a single battery, so it makes a good spare. One cell is always charged and waiting while another sits on the charger.
A dedicated 18650 charger is faster than charging in the vaporizer, and it takes the load off the built-in circuit.
It also keeps the vaporizer free to use. The Xtar X2 - Battery Charger charges two cells at once and its display shows exactly when each cell is ready. It handles 18650, 20700 and 21700 cells, so it still works if you switch to a bigger size later.
Battery safety
Lithium-ion cells are safe when handled correctly. Three habits keep them that way:
- Inspect before use - never charge or install a cell whose wrapper or insulating ring is cut, dented or otherwise damaged.
- Insert the negative (-) end first, against the spring terminal - and never force a cell into place.
- Carry spares in a case - never carry them loose with keys or coins.
