Who is the Flowermate V5 Nano for?
The Flowermate V5 Nano has been well received across the vaporizer press, with Planet of the Vapes calling it worth the extra cost over the other models in Flowermate's long-running V5 series. Nearly a decade after launch, a glass air path paired with a user-replaceable cell at this price is still uncommon.
It suits users who care most about flavour and usually vape between 190 and 200°C. One cell gives roughly 30 to 50 minutes of use, and a charged spare fits in seconds. On a commute, with the glass stowed inside, the Nano reads as a small power bank.
Pocket Size in Solid Aluminium
The V5 Nano stands 9.5 cm tall, 5 cm wide and 2.5 cm thick, at 142 g in an all-aluminium shell. The anodised body is one solid piece in all black, and nothing sticks out when the glass is put away.
With the mouthpiece stowed, the Nano passes for a small power bank in a jacket pocket or a bag. It does give off a little more smell in use than some other portables, so a closed bag helps in tight spaces.
A sliding lid covers the black ceramic chamber, and a spring-loaded door in the base holds both the battery and the glass. The buttons and the mouthpiece thread feel solid; the sliding lid and doors are the simplest part of the build.
Hybrid Heating That Warms the Air First
The V5 Nano heats in two ways at once. The black ceramic chamber warms the herbs by direct contact, and a spiral staircase structure below the air holes warms the incoming air on its way up, so the air arriving at the herbs is already hot.
That combination heats up in about 30 seconds, roughly the time it takes to grind a load. Reaching the 230°C maximum takes closer to 40 seconds.
Once heating starts, the Nano holds the set temperature continuously, with no button to press between draws. One long-term owner reports the temperature staying steady even on a low cell.
A Glass Mouthpiece for Pure Flavour, Stored Inside the Body
The mouthpiece is borosilicate glass and screws into the top, directly above the ceramic chamber. The air path is short and made only of glass and ceramic, which keeps the flavour clean and free of any plastic character.
A spring-loaded door in the base opens and the glass pops up out of the body. Keeping it there in transit protects the glass and cuts down on smell. The thread is coarse, so resin sticks in it less, and the glass itself is thicker than on earlier Flowermate models.
Glass is the most breakable part of any vape, and this one warms during use, so shorter draws help when it feels hot. A spare glass mouthpiece (sold separately) is a sensible precaution if you carry the vaporizer loose in a pocket.
Temperature Control to the Degree
The digital LED screen shows the temperature you set along with the battery level, and the two lower buttons move it in single-degree steps across 40 to 230°C. Holding both temperature buttons together switches between °C and °F.
The Nano vibrates when it reaches the set temperature, so there is no need to watch the screen. Give it another half minute after the vibration before the first draw.
Lower settings around 175 to 185°C preserve lighter compounds and terpenes. Around 190 to 200°C the Nano gives its best balance of flavour and extraction, and staying below the very top of the range keeps the draw smooth.
Fill the Chamber Without Spilling
The ceramic chamber takes about 0.25 g of ground herbs loosely packed, a dose sized for one person, which keeps sessions efficient. Pack it lightly for an easier draw and even heating. Half loads work perfectly well.
The magnetic loading funnel in the box drops onto the chamber and holds itself in place while you fill, which makes loading quick even away from home. Five stainless steel screens are included as well.
One stainless steel herb capsule and one concentrate capsule with a cotton pad also come in the box. Capsules need a bit more heat, around 205°C and up, and a bit more time than loose herbs in the chamber.
You can add extra herb capsules to pre-load several doses at home, and a TightVac MiniVac keeps ground herbs sealed and fresh in a pocket. Both are sold separately.
How to Use the V5 Nano
Three buttons handle everything, and there is no app to install or pair. A full session runs like this.
- Loading: Grind your herbs finely, drop the magnetic funnel onto the chamber and fill it loosely with about 0.25 g. Tamp gently with the stomper end of the tool and slide the lid closed.
- Fitting the mouthpiece: Open the spring-loaded door in the base, take the glass as it pops up and screw it into the top.
- Powering on: Five clicks of the top button switch the Nano on.
- Setting the temperature: The two lower buttons move the setting one degree per press.
- Heating: Hold the top button. After about 30 to 35 seconds the Nano vibrates, and it helps to wait another 30 seconds so the heat works through the herbs before the first draw.
- Inhaling: Slow, steady sips work best with this heating style. If the glass feels warm, shorten the draws.
- Raising the temperature: Increasing it gradually through a load extracts the last of the material.
- Finishing: The herb should look evenly toasted. Five clicks power it off, and auto shut-off handles it if you forget. Brush the chamber out while it is warm, stow the glass back in the base, and confirm the Nano is off before it goes into a pocket, since the five-click pattern can be triggered by accident.
A Battery You Swap Yourself
The V5 Nano runs on a single 18650 cell that sits behind the spring-loaded base door, and it was the first Flowermate with a cell you can change yourself. Swapping a flat one for a charged one takes seconds and no tools.
The stock 2500 mAh cell gives roughly 30 to 50 minutes of use, or around six to ten chamber loads, depending on your temperature. Cells of 3000 to 3500 mAh fit the same bay and extend that further.
Charging runs over USB-C, with a USB-A to USB-C cable in the box and no wall adapter. The Nano is charged between sessions, as it does not run while plugged in.
Charging cells outside the vape is the quicker routine, and it means a full one is always waiting. The Eve 35V - 3500 mAh 18650 Battery gives the longest runtime per charge of the cells we stock, and the Xtar X2 - Battery Charger fills two of them at once while a third stays in the vape. Both are sold separately.
Only Two Parts Need Cleaning
Only the ceramic chamber and the glass mouthpiece need attention. Brushing the chamber out with the hook end of the included tool while it is still warm lifts residue most easily, and the black ceramic hides staining well.
The mouthpiece clears with a breath blown through it after a session. For a deeper clean, a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol works on the glass, and its wide shape makes that easy.
Both screen types fill with resin over time and are meant to be replaced. New chamber screens and mouthpiece screens (sold separately) bring back airflow and flavour.
V5 Nano vs XMax V4 Pro
The XMax V4 Pro is a compact portable in the same value tier, built around true convection with on-demand heating. It gives you a draw without keeping a full chamber hot, and an airflow control lets you tune the resistance to taste.
The Nano's advantage here is glass and ceramic all the way from the chamber to your lips. The borosilicate mouthpiece screws in directly above the ceramic chamber for a short, isolated path, and the box already includes capsules for both herbs and concentrates plus the magnetic funnel.
Because the Nano heats the whole chamber for a session and vibrates when it is ready, you do not have to time anything, which makes it easier to carry and use every day. If you prefer convection that rewards good draw technique, the V4 Pro is the better choice.
V5 Nano vs Flowermate V5.0S Pro
The Flowermate V5.0S Pro V2 is the larger portable in Flowermate's own line, using pure conduction, two sealed batteries and an OLED screen. It runs around three hours per charge and shows the set and the actual temperature side by side.
The Nano's advantage here is runtime you can extend with spare cells. Its 18650 is user-swappable, while the V5.0S Pro V2's batteries are sealed in, so each 40 to 50 minute cell changes in seconds and runtime becomes a matter of how many you carry. Hybrid heating adds convection to the conduction, in a body that pockets more easily.
The Nano fits better if you spend long days away from a power socket and want something smaller to carry. The V5.0S Pro V2 suits someone happy to charge at home and vape for three hours straight.
Recommended Accessories
Right now we offer a 25% discount on all accessories when you buy any vaporizer here at MagicVaporizers. These are the additions worth thinking about for the V5 Nano.
Eve 35V - 3500 mAh 18650 Battery: A charged second cell extends 40 minutes of use into enough runtime for a full day away from home, with more capacity than the one in the box.
Xtar X2 - Battery Charger: Two bays let you fill a pair of cells at once, faster than charging inside the vape and with no wear on its port.
Herb Capsule: Fill several at home and swap doses during the day without carrying loose herbs or the funnel.
Concentrate Capsule: A second capsule keeps waxes and herbs apart, so flavours do not mix and you skip a mid-day clean.
Water Pipe Adapter: Screw it in where the mouthpiece sits and run the Nano through any 14 mm or 18 mm water pipe for cooler, moister draws at home.
TightVac MiniVac: An airtight pocket container that seals odours in and keeps ground herbs or filled capsules fresh between sessions.
TightVac Debowler: Tap the used herb straight out of the chamber into it after a session, then store what you collect in the MiniVac for later use.
Glass Mouthpiece: The box has no spare, and sooner or later glass carried loose in a pocket will break. A second one keeps the vape usable the same evening.
Mouthpiece Screens (5-pack): New screens in the glass stop fine particles reaching your mouth and bring the draw back to full flow.
Chamber Screens (5-pack): Five replacements for the chamber, so a screen clogged with resin never spoils the flavour.
