Who is the Flowermate V5.0S Pro V2 for?

The Flowermate V5.0S Pro V2 is the fully digital model in Flowermate's long-running V5 series. It is also one of the most popular affordable portables we stock. Its appeal is simple: close to three hours of vaporizing per charge, enough to cover a day out.

Ten years on from the first V5, few portables near this price carry two cells and run for close to three hours. Conduction heating favours clean flavour over heavy vapour production. The flavour is best between 175 °C and 190 °C. Pre-pack a few capsules and it covers a festival day or a long hike.

A Body That Hides Its Own Mouthpiece

The V5.0S Pro V2 is a flat aluminium block measuring 13.4 × 6.0 × 2.2 cm and weighing about 170 g. It is about as long and wide as an older smartphone, so it lies flat in a jacket or jeans pocket.

A slider on the base opens a hidden compartment for the glass mouthpiece, with room for other small parts too. With the glass tucked away, nothing sticks out and the vape looks like an ordinary metal block.

The shell is one piece of anodised aluminium with a glossy, grippy finish. A sliding door on top opens the chamber. The OLED screen sits on the front, and the three buttons run along one side.

Ceramic Heating, Ready in About 30 Seconds

The V5.0S Pro V2 heats by conduction. Your herbs sit inside a ceramic chamber and take heat straight from the walls around them, like a warm stone heating whatever touches it.

Heat-up takes around 30 seconds to reach the top of the range, the fastest of any Flowermate model. Lower temperature settings are reached sooner, so a flavour-led session at 180 °C is ready in a fraction of that time.

The ceramic spreads heat evenly. At the maximum 230 °C the herbs come close to scorching, but they do not burn in normal use. Used material comes out fairly uniform in colour across the chamber.

A Plastic-Free Path from Chamber to Glass

The air path is fully isolated from the electronics, and the vapour touches only ceramic, stainless steel and glass on its way to you. There is no plastic anywhere along that route, so the flavour stays clean.

Vapour leaves the ceramic chamber, passes a stainless steel screen, and travels up through the borosilicate glass mouthpiece. The draw is fairly restricted, so the vape performs best with a long, steady pull of ten seconds or more.

Fine-Tune the Temperature to Your Taste

Temperature runs from 40 °C to 230 °C in single degrees. You set it with the up and down buttons on the side. Pressing both together switches the readout between °C and °F.

The OLED screen shows the set temperature, the live chamber reading and the battery level together, so you can always see exactly what the vape is doing. The reading flashes while the chamber heats, then holds steady at the set temperature.

Treat the temperatures below as starting points and adjust them until the taste is right for you. Wait about 30 seconds after the reading settles, so the ceramic has time to stabilise. That one habit makes a clear difference to the first draw.

Around 175 °C to 185 °C preserves the lighter compounds and gives the cleanest flavour. Around 205 °C to 220 °C extracts more material in fewer draws. The side buttons are sensitive, so if the vape has been in a pocket, glance at the screen before you start heating.

A Chamber You Can Pre-Pack

The ceramic chamber takes roughly 0.25 g to 0.3 g of ground herbs, enough for one or two people. You load it from the top through the sliding door. Pack the herbs gently rather than cramming them in. The mouthpiece neck drops down into the chamber, so leave a little headroom.

One stainless steel herb capsule and one concentrate capsule come in the box, along with five chamber screens. The herb capsule drops into the chamber with your herbs already inside. That keeps the ceramic cleaner and makes a swap take seconds, even with gloves on. The concentrate capsule holds a cotton pad for waxes and oils, so those sessions leave the herb chamber untouched.

Extra herb capsules let you pre-load several sessions at home before a day out. Stirring the load halfway through with a stirring tool helps it heat more evenly. The MV StashBox adds a grinder, a tray and a lockable bag for the whole kit. Extra herb capsules, the stirring tool and the MV StashBox are all sold separately.

How to Use the Flowermate V5.0S Pro V2

Everything runs from three side buttons and the screen. There is no app, no Bluetooth and nothing to pair.

  1. Loading: Grind your herbs finely and evenly. Slide the top door open and fill the ceramic chamber with a gentle, even pack of about 0.25 g.
  2. Fitting the mouthpiece: Take the glass out of the base compartment and screw it firmly onto the top of the chamber.
  3. Powering on: Five rapid clicks of the power button start the vape. It then heats to the last temperature you used.
  4. Setting the temperature: The up and down buttons move in single degrees. Around 175 °C to 190 °C is a good starting band.
  5. Waiting: The reading flashes while the vape heats, then holds steady. Give it roughly 30 more seconds before the first draw.
  6. Inhaling: Draw long, slow and steady. Nudge the temperature up by 5 °C to 10 °C partway through to keep the extraction going.
  7. Finishing: The vape shuts off after 6 minutes, which is longer than the 3 to 4 minutes common on similar portable vaporizers. Press the power button once to wake it, then press and hold to start heating again. Otherwise, let it cool a little and unscrew the mouthpiece carefully, as the base of the mouthpiece gets hot. Tip out the used herbs and stow the glass back inside the body.

Battery Life and Charging

Two built-in 2600 mAh cells give two and a half to three hours of vaporizing per charge, roughly 8 to 12 sessions. That is a lot of runtime for a body this size. It is the main reason people pick this vape for festivals, camping and travel.

The cells are sealed inside the aluminium shell and are not user-replaceable. The battery level sits on the screen at all times, so you know how much is left before you head out.

Charging runs through a micro-USB port under a slider at the top and takes around three hours from empty. The USB cable is in the box, but a wall adapter is not. Any USB charger or power bank you already own will do the job. The V5.0S Pro V2 does not vaporize while plugged in, so charge it between sessions.

Cleaning That Stays Simple

Every few sessions, sweep loose material out of the ceramic chamber with the included brush. Use the dabber for anything stubborn. Emptying is easiest while the chamber is still slightly warm. The chamber itself is not replaceable, so a quick clean every few sessions keeps it in good shape.

The glass mouthpiece comes apart for a deeper clean. Take the silicone O-ring off first, then soak the glass and the screens in isopropyl alcohol. The channel the mouthpiece slides into collects residue over time, so wipe that out as well.

A spare glass mouthpiece (sold separately) lets you carry on while the other soaks. New screens restore airflow and flavour once resin builds up.

V5.0S Pro V2 vs XMax V4 Pro

The XMax V4 Pro is a compact convection portable from a newer generation of budget-to-mid vapes. It heats in about 11 seconds. The cell is user-replaceable too, so a charged spare in your pocket gets you running again immediately.

The Flowermate's main advantage is close to three hours of vaporizing per charge, roughly 8 to 12 sessions from its two built-in cells. The session timer runs 6 minutes against the 3 to 4 minutes common in this class. The capsule system also covers waxes and oils, not just herbs.

If you charge every night and want the quickest start, the XMax suits you. The Flowermate is the more practical one to carry for long days away from a socket, and the glass tucks inside the body when you are finished.

V5.0S Pro V2 vs Flowermate Aura

The Flowermate Aura is the slimmer, pen-shaped model in the same range, and it costs less. It slips into a shirt pocket more easily. It also shares the same single-degree control across 40 °C to 230 °C.

The clearest difference is battery capacity: roughly three hours of use here against the Aura's two hours. The V5.0S Pro V2's full OLED shows the set temperature, the live chamber reading and the battery level at the same time. The base compartment also stows the glass mouthpiece out of sight. A water pipe adapter is available for the V5.0S Pro V2 only.

Pick the Aura if you want the thinnest device to carry. Pick the V5.0S Pro V2 when runtime, a detailed readout and hidden glass storage matter more.

Recommended Accessories

Right now we offer a 25% discount on all accessories when you buy any vaporizer here at MagicVaporizers. Here is a guide to what works well alongside this vape.

MV StashBox + 8 Accessories: The vaporizer does not come with a case, a grinder or a storage container. This lockable bag provides all three, plus room for the vape itself.

Flowermate - Herb Capsule: Pre-load several at home, then swap in a full capsule in seconds while you are out, even with gloves on.

Flowermate - Concentrate Capsule: Keeps waxes and oils on their own cotton pad, so you can go back to herbs without a deep clean.

Flowermate V5.0S Pro - Water Pipe Adapter: Above 205 °C, conduction draws start to feel warm in the throat. Run the vapour through water instead. It fits 10 mm, 14 mm and 18 mm joints.

Stainless Steel Stirring Tool: A stir halfway through the session evens out conduction extraction, so the second half of the load performs like the first.

TightVac - MiniVac 0.12 L: This vape works best with properly dried herbs. The airtight container keeps them that way and seals in the smell. Pair it with the TightVac Debowler, which lets you knock the used herbs cleanly out of the chamber after a session and store them for later use.

Flowermate V5.0S Pro - Mouthpiece: Glass breaks. A second one keeps you going while the first soaks in alcohol.

Flowermate - Mouthpiece Screens (5-pack): Filter out the fine particles before they reach your mouth, and a fresh screen makes the draw feel like it did on day one.

Flowermate - Chamber Screens (5-pack): These are the main consumable for this vape. Swapping a resin-clogged screen for a new one restores both airflow and flavour.
