Who is the XVape Fog Pro for?

The XVape Fog Pro is the convection model in the XVape/XMax family. The Starry alongside it uses conduction heating. Reviewers praise it as a portable vaporizer built above all for flavour. It suits solo users who want to taste every note of their herbs.

The chamber is sized for personal sessions. Portable convection vaporizers with a battery you can swap yourself are still uncommon at this price. Pack a charged spare and you can easily cover a long hike or a festival day, even where there is no power outlet.

Small Enough to Vanish in a Pocket

The Fog Pro measures 4.4 × 2.6 × 10 cm and weighs 159 g, so it fits fully in your palm and slips into a jeans pocket without a visible bulge.

The body is anodised aluminium with a matte satin finish, printed with a subtle topographic map. Three tactile buttons and a small OLED screen sit on one side, next to the USB-C port.

You lift the magnetic top cap straight off: there are no threads to unscrew and no catch to press. The Fog Pro is also heavy enough to stand upright on a table between draws.

Convection Heat for Clean Flavour

The Fog Pro heats by convection. Air is drawn in through the sides, heated, and pushed up through jets in the base of the chamber. The herbs sit in a moving stream of hot air, like clothes in a tumble dryer. The herbs never touch the heating element.

The Fog Pro is ready in about 15 seconds at 180 °C, and under 30 seconds at the 220 °C ceiling. That is roughly the time it takes to grind a small load. A short vibration tells you when the set temperature is reached.

Convection also shows in what is left in the chamber. Used herbs are an even light brown with no scorched patches: the sign of heat passing through the load rather than searing it from one side.

A Vapour Path of Steel, Ceramic and Zirconia

Vapour leaves the stainless steel oven, passes through a ceramic airflow box and a metal screen, then reaches the zirconia ceramic mouthpiece. Nothing on that path adds a taste of its own, so the flavour stays clean.

Zirconia is chemically neutral and far harder than glass. On the lips it feels as smooth as metal, without the cold. It also holds up to years of heat cycles.

The draw is free and open: the mouthpiece opening is wider than on the original Fog. Airflow is fixed, so there is nothing to adjust before a session.

The Fog Pro has no native water pipe connection. If you want to run the vapour through water, add a Water Pipe Adapter with Bubbler or a simple Water Pipe Adapter, both sold separately.

Temperature Set to the Degree

The Fog Pro adjusts in 1 °C steps from 100 °C to 220 °C. One click of the up or down button moves a single degree. Hold either button to scroll quickly through the range. There are no fixed presets that limit your choice.

The OLED screen shows the set temperature, the current temperature, the battery level and the session countdown. The Fog Pro remembers your last setting and starts heating the moment you power it on. Switch it off when you are not using it.

Around 180 °C to 190 °C preserves the lighter compounds and gives the cleanest taste. Settings near 200 °C to 210 °C pull more from the load in fewer draws. For most sessions, 188 °C to 199 °C is a comfortable range.

If the herbs still look only partly extracted at the end, step up 5 °C to 10 °C and give them a stir. The Fog Pro works best at a slightly higher setting than a conduction vape would need.

A Chamber Sized for Personal Sessions

The stainless steel oven holds around 0.2 g to 0.3 g of ground herbs, enough for one person. A sloped rim around the opening makes filling easier and catches loose herbs.

Loading works best with a coarse grind. Keep the herbs loose and fluffy rather than compressed. Never fill above the top of the chamber, because part of the mouthpiece sits down inside it. The stir tool is stored in a small hole in the side of the body, so you can turn the load mid-session without opening anything else.

The TightVac MiniVac (sold separately) keeps pre-ground herbs sealed and pocketable, ready for a coarse, loose pack.

Herbs and Concentrates in One Vape

A wax cup comes in the box, so you can vape concentrates without buying anything extra. The cup drops into the oven. Load it about halfway using the built-in stir tool.

Run concentrates at or near the 220 °C ceiling. The Fog Pro keeps heating while you draw, which gives solid concentrates the extra warmth they need. That ceiling is on the low side for concentrates, so some suit it better than others.

Lift the cup out with tweezers while it is still warm. They are not included. A second wax cup is sold on its own, so you can keep one loaded with concentrate and one free for herbs.

How to Use the XVape Fog Pro

Three buttons on the side handle everything: power, up and down.

  1. Loading: Lift off the magnetic cap, take out the mouthpiece and fill the oven with coarsely ground, dry herbs. Keep the pack loose and below the rim.
  2. Heating: Refit the mouthpiece and cap, then triple-click the power button. The oven starts warming straight away.
  3. Setting the temperature: Click up or down for one degree at a time, or hold to scroll. Around 180 °C to 190 °C is a good starting point.
  4. Drawing: The Fog Pro vibrates once it reaches the set temperature, and the countdown starts. Long, slow draws bring out the most flavour. Waiting another 20 seconds after the vibration helps too.
  5. Stirring: Halfway through the session, pull the tool from the side of the body and turn the load over. Stirring is what evens out the extraction.
  6. Finishing: The session runs for 5 or 10 minutes. Hold power and up for two seconds to switch between the two session lengths. The Fog Pro vibrates and shuts off at zero. Triple-click to stop early, then tip out the used herbs and brush the chamber.

Battery and Charging: Swap the Cell or Charge It in the Device

The 3200 mAh 18650 cell sits behind a bottom cap and lifts out in seconds. A full charge covers roughly 6 to 9 sessions. Carry a charged spare and a long day away from home is covered.

You can also charge over USB-C with the cell in place, at 5 V and 1 A. The box includes a cable but no wall plug. Charge the Fog Pro from any USB charger or power bank, much like a phone. Plan to recharge between sessions, or keep a second cell topped up for continuous use.

Before the first session, remove the insulating tab from the battery and give it a full charge. Let the Fog Pro cool before you put it away. Never store it with a nearly flat cell: a cell left below 2% may stop accepting a charge.

The Eve 35V - 3500 mAh 18650 Battery gives you a second cell. The Xtar X2 - Battery Charger fills two cells outside the vape, which is quicker than charging inside the device and saves wear on the USB-C port. Both are sold separately.

Only Two Parts Need Cleaning

The chamber and the mouthpiece are the parts that need regular attention. Brush the oven out after each session with the included brush. Every so often, swab it with isopropyl alcohol on a cotton bud.

The mouthpiece pulls off gently and separates into three pieces for a deeper clean. Wash them in soapy water. To go further, soak everything except the metal screen in cleaning solution for about half an hour. Dry all parts fully, then follow the moulded arrows when you put them back together. Afterwards, run the vaporizer for two minutes at the highest temperature to clear any cleaning residue before the next session.

The metal screen collects resin faster than anything else, and airflow only stays open while it is clean.

No spares come in the box. A metal screen, the filter kit and the cleaning set are all worth adding to your order.

Fog Pro vs XMax V4 Pro

The XMax V4 Pro is a newer portable convection vaporizer from the same manufacturer. It adds an on-demand mode that heats only while you hold the button. It also has a three-position airflow slider and a glass water pipe adapter in its own system.

The Fog Pro has three advantages of its own. It has a 3200 mAh cell against 2550 mAh in the V4 Pro. Its stir tool is built into the body, so you can reach it mid-session without opening anything. And a wax cup for concentrates is already in the box.

If you vape away from sockets and want one device for both herbs and concentrates, the Fog Pro is the more practical pick.

Fog Pro vs Wolkenkraft FX Mini Ultra

The Wolkenkraft FX Mini Ultra is a newer compact portable in the same budget price bracket. Its main selling point is a five-year warranty.

The Fog Pro gets there a different way: a battery you replace yourself. When the cell ages, a new 18650 costs little and the vaporizer carries on. The zirconia mouthpiece and the wax cup in the box round out what you get.

If you would rather keep a vape running on cheap replacement cells, swapping in a fresh one during the day, the Fog Pro suits you better.

Recommended Accessories

Buy any vaporizer at MagicVaporizers and you get a 25% discount on all accessories. Here is what is worth adding to a Fog Pro order.

Eve 35V - 3500 mAh 18650 Battery: A second cell with more capacity than the one in the kit. Swap it in when the first runs flat.

Xtar X2 - Battery Charger UK: Fill two cells at once outside the vape, so one is always charged while the other is in use.

Water Pipe Adapter with Bubbler: Pull the vapour through water at home for a cooler, softer draw.

Water Pipe Adapter: The simpler route to water filtration if you already own a water pipe.

TightVac - MiniVac 0.12 L: An airtight pocket container that keeps ground herbs sealed. It also stores already-vaped herb between sessions.

TightVac - Debowler: Tap the chamber out into it after a session, then move the already-vaped herb into the MiniVac for later use.

XVape Fog Pro - Wax Cup: Keep one cup loaded with concentrate and the other free for herbs.

XMax / XVape - Cleaning Set: Replaces the brush, the cleaning tool and the cotton swabs. The box includes only a small starter supply, with no refills.

XVape Fog Pro - Metal Screen: No spares come in the box, and this is the part that clogs first. It is the accessory Fog Pro owners buy most.

XVape Fog Pro - Filter Kit: Renews the filter elements inside the mouthpiece assembly, so the taste is clean again from the first draw after fitting.

XVape Fog Pro - Complete Mouthpiece: A full replacement assembly, including the magnetic cap, the mouthpiece and the zirconia tip, for when cleaning no longer brings the flavour back.
