Who is the Arizer Air Max for?

The Arizer Air Max is the flagship of the Air series, made by Arizer, the Canadian company behind the well-known Solo line. It is consistently rated among the best portable vaporizers in its class, and flavour is the reason people buy it. Add a battery you can swap yourself and a water pipe adapter in the kit, and you get a portable built for years of ownership.

The Air Max is made for unhurried sessions at home: the couch, the desk, the garden. A full chamber takes 6 to 12 minutes, and the glass asks for a little care when you travel. That pace buys even, thorough extraction and flavour that lasts to the final draw.

A Compact Aluminium Body

The Air Max stands about 12 cm tall and weighs about 117 g, with a smooth brushed aluminium body and subtle ridges for grip. It fits in a closed hand and slips into a pocket once the glass mouthpiece is removed.

The three buttons sit on the sides of the body, so your fingers find them without looking. A bright OLED display shows the live temperature, the battery level, and your choice of °C or °F.

An All-Glass Vapour Path for Pure Flavour

The vapour path is 100% borosilicate glass, so herbs touch only glass on the way to your lips. No plastic, no rubber, no metal. Glass adds no taste of its own, which is why terpenes come through so clearly.

Each glass mouthpiece has a herb chamber on one end and a mouthpiece on the other, separated by a built-in glass screen. You pack ground herbs into the chamber end, which holds around 0.15 to 0.25 g depending on your grind. The same glass mouthpieces work across Arizer's Air and Solo models.

Hybrid Heating That Holds Its Temperature

Inside sits a ceramic oven with hybrid conduction and convection heating. It works like cooking with an oven and a pan at once: hot air flows through the herbs while the warm glass heats them directly. Herbs come out evenly browned and fully used.

The Air Max reaches temperature in about a minute to a minute and a half. Once there, the large battery keeps the heater fed, so the temperature holds steady through long draws, even through a water pipe.

Temperature Control in Single Degrees

Temperature runs from 50°C to 220°C in single-degree steps, set with the plus and minus buttons. Arizer suggests 180 to 200°C for smooth, flavourful sessions and 200 to 220°C for stronger extraction in fewer draws.

Three buttons and the display handle everything; there is no app to pair and nothing to update. That simplicity makes the Air Max a strong choice for anyone new to vaporizers. The vape confirms changes with beeps; there is no vibration.

A dark mode dims the display for quiet evenings. The button combination is worth a quick look in the manual, since it is easy to trigger by accident.

Glass Pods: Pre-Load Your Sessions

The glass mouthpieces double as a pod system. You can fill several at home, seal them with silicone caps, and carry them in the included travel tubes. When one chamber is finished, you swap in the next; no grinder needed.

Loading is quick too. Dip the chamber end into your ground herbs and give it a twist, and the chamber is packed. The kit includes two silicone caps and travel tubes to get you started.

You can add a silicone cap pack and an extra 70 mm glass mouthpiece or two to build a full rotation of pre-loaded pods.

Water Pipe Sessions, Straight from the Kit

The Air Max is the first Arizer portable to include a 14 mm water pipe adapter in the kit. The frosted glass adapter has its own herb chamber and makes a glass-on-glass connection with any water pipe that has a 14 mm fitting. Through water, even the highest temperatures become smooth and comfortable to inhale.

The OLED display flips automatically when the vape is upside down, so you can read the temperature while it sits inverted on a water piece. The vape is top-heavy in that position, so keep a hand nearby.

How to Use the Arizer Air Max

Everything runs on the three buttons and the display. A full session looks like this:

  1. Loading: Grind your herbs to a medium coarseness, then dip the chamber end of the glass mouthpiece into them and twist. Leave the herbs loose and below the glass rim.
  2. Inserting: Twist the glass mouthpiece gently into the opening at the top.
  3. Heating: Hold menu and plus to power on, then set your temperature with plus and minus. Heating begins once you press a temperature button; a couple of gentle draws during warm-up prime the glass.
  4. Inhaling: Take slow, light draws of around 15 seconds, like sipping a thick milkshake through a straw. Stir once with the included tool if you like; a full chamber lasts 6 to 12 minutes.
  5. Finishing: Hold menu until the beep to power off, then empty the chamber while the glass is still warm so residue does not stick.

A Replaceable Battery and Pass-Through Charging

The battery is the Air Max's second big story. It runs on a removable 26650 cell of up to 5,750 mAh, roughly the power of two standard 18650 batteries in one. Expect around 2 to 2.5 hours of continuous use, or 10 to 13 chambers per charge.

For most people that means charging every second or third day, much like a phone. Charging runs over USB-C and takes about 3 hours; the wall adapter is included in the box, which few brands still do. The Air Max also supports pass-through, so it keeps working while plugged in.

The battery sits behind a threaded cap on the bottom and unscrews by hand, with no tools needed. The cells are rated for over 500 charge cycles, and when one eventually fades, you replace the battery, not the vape.

For travel or heavy use, the Battery with Charge Tester doubles total runtime to 4 to 5 hours, and the Xtar X2 Battery Charger charges one cell in its dual bays while the other runs the vape. Both are sold separately.

Cleaning Takes Minutes

Only the glass touches herbs, so cleaning is about as simple as it gets. Soak the glass mouthpiece in isopropyl alcohol for an hour or two, then rinse with hot water. The included travel tube doubles as a shaker: glass, alcohol, and a pinch of salt inside, then shake.

The oven itself rarely needs attention. Emptying the chamber while the glass is still warm keeps residue from building up in the first place.

Solo 3 vs Air Max

The Arizer Solo 3 is the larger flagship in the same range, built around the same all-glass philosophy. It offers longer battery life at around 3 hours per charge and an XL glass option with a bigger chamber.

The Air Max answers with a battery you can replace yourself. The 26650 cell swaps out by hand, and a second cell doubles total runtime to 4 to 5 hours, while the Solo 3's battery is built in. The Air Max is also the more compact of the two and includes a 14 mm water pipe adapter in the kit.

Maximum runtime and bigger chambers point to the Solo 3; a smaller body and long-term serviceability point to the Air Max.

ÄRiS Ultra vs Air Max

The Wolkenkraft ÄRiS Ultra is a mid-range hybrid vaporizer with the same single-degree temperature precision. It brings a titanium chamber, a faster heat-up, and a lower price.

The Air Max counters with a completely glass vapour path, where herbs touch no metal at any point. It also adds a replaceable 26650 battery and includes a 14 mm water pipe adapter in the kit.

Quick sessions on a budget favour the ÄRiS Ultra; flavour purists and water pipe users will get more from the Air Max.

Recommended Accessories

Right now we offer a 25% discount on all accessories when you buy any vaporizer here at MagicVaporizers. These are the add-ons we would pick for the Air Max.

Soft-shell Case: The kit has no case, and glass deserves padding. It holds the vape, the charger, up to six glass pieces, and spare batteries.

Battery with Charge Tester: A second 26650 cell doubles total runtime to 4 to 5 hours, and the tester case shows the charge level at a button press.

Xtar X2 Battery Charger: Charges two cells at once in its dual bays while the vape stays in use.

Glass Mouthpiece (110 mm): The longest glass gives vapour more distance to cool, the go-to upgrade for high-temperature sessions.

Curved Glass Mouthpiece: Lets the vape stand upright on the table while the mouthpiece angles towards you.

Tipped Glass Mouthpiece (70 mm): The heat-rated tip stays comfortable on the lips during hot sessions.

Silicone Glass Caps (4-pack): Cap pre-loaded glass and carry a full day of sessions; the kit includes only two caps.

TightVac MiniVac: An airtight, smell-proof container that keeps ground herbs fresh and ready for filling the next glass piece.

Water Pipe Adapter (14 mm): A second adapter means a broken glass joint never ends your water sessions.

Glass Mouthpiece (70 mm): The same glass as the kit; extras let you pre-load several pieces for the week.

Screens (6-pack): Stainless steel screens stop finely ground herbs from pulling through into the oven.
