Who is the AirVape Legacy Pro 2 for?
The Legacy Pro 2 sits at the top of AirVape's Legacy range. It is built around one idea: a portable vaporizer you can keep running for years. It reviews well in its class, praised for its flavour and the number of features it packs in.
It suits daily users who want both quick single draws and longer timed sessions. The Legacy Pro 2 weighs 232 g, so you notice it in a pocket. That mass buys a full-size swappable battery, a full-colour screen and a chamber you can fill with the vape lying flat on the table.
A Body Made by Hand
The Legacy Pro 2 measures 119 × 52 × 21 mm, so it is slim and flat enough for jeans or a jacket. The body is wrapped in hand-finished cork with gold flakes embedded at random, so no two bodies are quite the same. The cork also insulates against heat and adds grip.
A hinged clamshell lid opens flat like a book. The vape stays flat and steady on the table while you load it, which is easier than balancing an upright device in one hand.
Cork is a natural material, so small wrinkles or variations can appear over time. AirVape treats these as part of the hand-finished character.
A large full-colour display sits on the front. It shows battery level, set temperature, live temperature and the session countdown, and dims itself when idle.
Hybrid Heat, Two Ways to Vape
The Legacy Pro 2 uses hybrid heating. The 24K gold-plated chamber warms the herbs by direct contact while hot air is pulled through. Gold spreads heat evenly across the chamber surface, which helps avoid the hot spots that make draws feel harsh.
Session mode reaches your set temperature in about 15 seconds and then holds it for 3, 5 or 10 minutes with a countdown on screen. This is the relaxed setting, good for sharing or a longer session.
On-demand mode is the other option. Hold the power button, wait roughly 7 seconds for the vibration, then inhale. Heat stops the moment you let go. That leans the extraction more towards convection, saves battery and keeps each draw short and discreet.
Press both temperature buttons at the same time to switch between the two modes. A short buzz confirms the change.
Smooth, Cool Vapour
The vapour route inside the Legacy Pro 2 is long and indirect on purpose. Air enters at the base, rises through holes around the edge of the chamber and passes through the screens. From there it travels down a removable borosilicate glass tube and makes a final bend into the ceramic mouthpiece.
That distance gives the vapour time to cool. Draw comfort is one of the Legacy Pro 2's strongest points, even at the higher herb settings. A silicone sleeve is included as a heat guard.
The glass section and the ceramic mouthpiece keep the flavour clean, since the vapour touches no plastic on its way out. The first draws of a load carry the most flavour. When the taste turns toasty, the load is finished.
The Extra-Long Mouthpiece now comes fitted as standard. It adds more distance from the hot chamber and gives you more to hold on to.
Temperature You Set Exactly
Two buttons set the temperature in precise steps, anywhere from 100 °C to 240 °C. There is no fixed preset list, so you land on the exact number you want. The screen shows both your target and the live reading as the temperature climbs.
Around 180 to 185 °C is the sweet spot for flavour and lighter compounds. Between 205 and 215 °C the vape works faster and pulls more from the load. A good general starting point is 190 to 200 °C.
For herbs, stay at or below about 218 °C, just under the point where the vape switches modes. Above roughly 220 °C the Legacy Pro 2 switches automatically into concentrate mode, where herbs can scorch.
A Chamber You Can Resize
The gold-plated chamber holds around 0.25 g of ground herbs, which suits a solo session or a small group. A medium grind and a light pack work best. Overpacking just means more cleaning later.
Twist the top cap anticlockwise and a disc drops into the chamber, cutting the usable volume by roughly 25%, down to about 0.2 g. That is the built-in option for microdosing and smaller solo loads.
The Legacy Pro 2 also handles concentrates. A stainless steel mesh pad is included in the box; place it in the chamber and add a small amount of concentrate on top. Above 220 °C the vape switches to concentrate mode on its own.
Filling the chamber by hand can be fiddly. Pre-filled dosing capsules (sold separately) let you do the filling at home instead. A MiniVac container keeps ground herbs sealed while you carry them.
How to Use the AirVape Legacy Pro 2
Three buttons handle everything. There is no app, no Bluetooth and nothing to pair or update. The vape works on its own.
- Loading: Grind to a medium consistency, open the clamshell lid and fill the chamber with a light pack. Tamp gently with the included tool, then close the lid until the latch clicks.
- Powering on: Click the power button three times. The colour screen wakes and shows your last temperature.
- Setting temperature: Use the up and down buttons to reach your number. The display shows the temperature in °C or °F.
- Choosing a mode: Press both temperature buttons together to switch between session and on-demand. A buzz confirms the change.
- Heating: In session mode, wait about 15 seconds for the vibration. In on-demand mode, hold the power button for roughly 7 seconds until it buzzes.
- Inhaling: Draw slowly and steadily. Long draws pull noticeably more than short ones.
- Stirring: Halfway through, use the stir tool stored in the body to even out the load. Skip this step if you are using a capsule.
- Finishing: Session mode ends when the countdown runs out, and a motion sensor shuts the vape down shortly after you set it down. Open the lid and tip the used herbs into a jar.
Battery and Charging on Your Terms
The Legacy Pro 2 runs on a removable 3200 mAh 18650 battery that swaps out in seconds. Lift the small door beside the chamber, drop in a charged cell and carry on. Standard 18650 cells are easy to find, so the vape does not become disposable once the original one ages.
Expect roughly 6 to 12 sessions per charge, depending on mode and temperature. On-demand draws less power than session mode. Charging over USB-C takes around three hours. The port sits on the rear, so charging works best with the vape lying flat.
You can vape while the Legacy Pro 2 is plugged in. The box includes a USB-A to USB-C cable but no wall adapter. Wireless charging is also supported, which is very rare among portables. Set the vape on a charging pad and it tops up without a cable. The pad itself is a separate purchase.
Carrying a second cell turns charging into a non-issue. The Eve 35V - 3500 mAh 18650 Battery is the spare we recommend, a flat-top cell with slightly more capacity than the included 3200 mAh battery. The Xtar X2 - Battery Charger fills two cells outside the vape, so the device stays available for use.
ONEPATH Cleaning and Magnetic Screens
Cleaning was the weak point of the original Legacy Pro, and the Legacy Pro 2 fixes that directly. You can clean the whole vapour path with one long brush included in the box. A silicone grommet on the outside pulls back to reveal an access port sized for that brush. It lets you reach past the bend near the mouthpiece.
The magnetic screens are the other change. They are twice the size of the previous design and snap in and out with your fingers - no silicone seal to wrestle with.
A quick clean takes a couple of minutes: pop the screen out, wipe the chamber with a cotton bud and isopropyl alcohol, then brush the path. For a deeper clean, remove the glass tube and soak it in alcohol, then rinse and dry.
Rising draw resistance is your cue that the screens need attention. New screens and a set of dosing capsules (both sold separately) keep maintenance short. Capsules reduce how much herb touches the chamber in the first place.
Legacy Pro 2 vs Air Max
The Arizer Air Max is the flagship of Arizer's Air series. It is a session vape with an all-glass vapour path and its own replaceable 26650 battery. It runs longer on a single charge, needs less frequent cleaning, and includes a water pipe adapter in the box.
Ready in a fraction of the time. The Legacy Pro 2 heats in about 15 seconds (about 7 seconds in on-demand mode) against roughly a minute for the Air Max. The Air Max is session-only, so there is no way to heat just for a single draw. The Legacy Pro 2 also handles concentrates with the included mesh pad, while putting concentrates in an Air Max voids its warranty.
If you want low-temperature flavour around 180 to 185 °C and quick single draws, take the Legacy Pro 2. If you want simpler cleaning and longer runtime per charge, take the Air Max.
Legacy Pro 2 vs Mighty+
The Mighty+ is Storz & Bickel's long-running former flagship. Most premium session vapes are still measured against it. It brings a deep accessory ecosystem and a long track record for reliability.
Two heating modes in one vape is the clearest difference. The Legacy Pro 2 does timed sessions and 7-second on-demand draws, whereas the Mighty+ is session-only. Both weigh about the same, 232 g against 242 g. The Legacy Pro 2 is slimmer and flatter at 21 mm thick, and its 18650 cell swaps out by hand.
The two sit close together on flavour and draw comfort. The Legacy Pro 2 covers more ground if you want a battery you can change yourself, a full-colour screen and concentrate support out of the box.
